Visa Application

Hi

I am an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. I need to attend a conference on "Fourth International Conference on Railway Technology" in Sitges, Spain from Sep 3-7, 2018. In this regard can you please clarify the following:

(1) What visa type do I need to apply for?
(2) Can I submit my visa application in Spanish Consulate in Kolkata?
(3) What documents do I need to to bring for applying for the visa?
(4) Do I need to come personally or can I authorize someone to visit the consulate on my behalf?
