I. About the Course:
The primary objective of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University is to groom law students to become responsible and competent legal professionals. The University also believes that it should cater to the needs of different sections of the society. The academic programmes are designed with this perspective. Realizing the fact that there is a dearth of competent young lawyers in the mofussil courts, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University is offering 4 year LL.B LL.M (Dual Degree) programme for the academic year 2013‐2014.
It is a dual degree programme, very flexible, with an exit option after completion of three years. Students who qualify will be eligible to get a LL.B degree after completion of three years. They have a choice to opt out. Those who wish to continue will get LL.B. LL.M (Dual Degree) upon qualifying. The continuation of students in LL.M will depend on overall performance of the students and will be based on the recommendations of the committee constituted for this purpose and as per rules laid down by the university. They can also pursue LL.M within India or abroad based on MoUs signed with other Universities/ Institutions.
II. Eligibility and Admission Procedure:
1. Age: In case of General / BC candidates should not be more than 23 years as on 1st July- 2013, 25 years in case of SC / ST / PWD candidates.
2. The candidate should have passed under graduate course (10+2+3) or (10+2+4) in any discipline from a recognized University securing minimum 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of reserved categories, i.e. SC/ST/Persons with Disability). The candidates appeared/appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible subject to the condition that he/she should have passed with minimum prescribed marks at the time of counseling.
3. The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation / post graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission into the law courses.
4. The candidates seeking admission should note that 4 Year LL.B. LL.M. (Dual Degree) Programme is purely full‐time, regular and residential course. However, presently the University Campus is under construction and the University provides accommodation in the University recognized hostels. Such of those students requiring accommodation in the University recognized hostels should mention in the application form. Those who do not require hostel accommodation and opting for their own arrangements have to provide an undertaking at the time of admission that they will abide by the University Code of Conduct and discipline rules that are in force and provided from time to time and that they have made their own arrangement for food and accommodation with the consent of the parents and will be under the supervision of local guardian.
5. The admission to the programme will be based on a screening test, group discussion and interview. The Screening test will be based on the following:
(i) A two hour screening test will be conducted at Visakhapatnam.
(ii) Candidates have to take a test on the following topics:

(iii) The questions shall include multiple choice and descriptive type questions in English medium only. Candidates have to read standard books on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English language, Logical Aptitude and Legal Aptitude.
Note: Mere appearance in the Screening Test will not give any right of admission.
The candidate should satisfy all the eligibility criteria and rules governing as are applicable. The Screening Test / Group Discussion / Interview will be completed on the same day and results will be announced.
6. Eligible candidates, may apply to the Registrar, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University in the prescribed form, which can be downloaded from the website www.dsnlu.ac.in along with a fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) by Demand Draft drawn on any nationalized bank, in favour of ‘Registrar, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University’ payable at Visakhapatnam and submit the same duly filled in within the stipulated time (15.06.2013) either in person or by post to: The Registrar, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Plot No-116, Sector-11, MVP Colony, Visakhapatnam, 530017. The above fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
III. Intake and Reservations:
The University admits 25 students in Visakhapatnam Main Campus only with reservations as per Government of Andhra Pradesh Rules. Candidates from other states and foreign nationals will also be admitted as per the existing rules.
IV. Duration of the Course:
1. The duration of the course shall be four academic years i.e. 8 (eight) semesters.
2. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. Each semester will have a minimum of ninety (90) working days.
3. The academic calendar shall be announced in advance each year and will ordinarily be during July ‐ December and January ‐ June, with winter internships, winter break and summer vacation.
4. Medium of instruction shall be English only.
5. The scheme of the study of the course shall be strictly in conformity with the syllabi and regulations prescribed by the Bar Council of India and Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University from time to time. The students will be trained through class room lectures, guest lectures, group discussions, seminars and hands on clinical experience. Emphasis will be on clinical education. The student has to take 23 papers on core subjects, 6 optional seminar papers, 4 clinical papers, 4 specialization papers
and a dissertation. The University is offering several optional clinical papers, seminar papers and specialization area papers.
