Appreciation for services rendered by TTE
We had purchased 3AC tickets from Trichy to Chennai on 02.09.2011 in Mangalore-Trichy-Chennai Express, but we missed the train. Hence, we boarded a 2AC compartment in Rockfort Express on the same day at 10.20 PM. The TTE on service was one Mr. Theerkatharisi, who was kind enough to accomodate us by charging the exact fare by issuing a receipt. As we were two ladies with a child, he took good care by providing us safety and comfort.
We heartily appreciate his kind act to help two ladies in distress during night time. In a world where we only come across people who exploit such situation, it was heart-warming to meet a gentle-man with high values.

Appreciation of Indian Railways
Many times when we are used to some thing we fail to appreciate the value. I recently concluded a trip to the USA with family and had a chance to travel from Boston to Cleveland by Amtrak(Railway in USA). At the end of the trip I was feeling that Indian railways is far better in service delivery than Amtrak(Railway company in USA). The train started from Boston on time but it was parked just outside the station for half an hour. This was the beginning. The Shunting of additional dinner car in another station was taking so much time than what I have seen at Erode Junction. The train was traveling more like a mountain rail than between 2 major cities. Finally the train reached 5 hours late. For the number of people transported every day, the economy and facilities I feel Indian railways is doing a great job. It is so easy to complain, but, when you see the value we are getting for the money we spend compared to elsewhere in the world Indian railways truly deserves appreciation. I feel good that as the Indian railways evolves it will be one among the best in the world. I am sure as more Indians travel abroad they will come back and appreciate what they did not appreciate earlier.

Availability of Tatkal for Araku Train
My ticket to Araku from Vizag in Train No: 58501- VSKP-KRDL-PASS is WL 44. Is Tatkal reservation available for this Train for date 13-08-2011.
The Indian Railways shows First Class (FC) and Sleeper (SL).
But when we book from IRCTC, it does not show any availability when we click on 'FC'.
1) Do you think my ticket will get confirmed ?
2) Can we book 'FC' tickets on this train ?

I was booking my train ticket in online from HYDERBAD to CHENNAI in CHARMINAR EXPRESS ON 18/8/2011 , at that time page was expired ,my ticket hasn't booked but amount got deducted from my SBI account . uncleaned train compartment
I had perform journey from Kholapur (KOP) Maharashtra to Bengaluru by Train No.16590 on 30.07.2011 and my PNR No. 841-3743514 3AC B2 34 & 37. The train reached Kholapur on 30.7.11 at 13.20hrs. I went to board the train at 13.50hrs, to my surprise I saw the compartment was not cleaned/swept. I found rum/brandy bottles beneath my lower berth. Immediately I went to Station Master`s room but to my surprise it was vacant and till the departure of the train I could not meet him!. Accidently came across one Sri Manjunath who was on duty and attached to that compartment and pickedup oral arguments and told him that I will not allow the train to leave Kholapur unless the compartment is cleanerd. He promised me that it will be cleaned at Miraj since the tender for cleaning the same is operative only at Miraj. So the B2 passengers boarded at Kholapur were forced to inhale the pollutted air as the drunkeds had vomited beneath the lower berths. Will the authorities take action to see that the train leaves Kholapur only after ensuring cleaniness?

I got three 2AC tickets
I got three 2AC tickets reserved from Nizamudin to Bangalore & back by rajdhani Express with PNR numbers 242-2840287 and 413-0521985 and age of two males is 60 and another male is 58. The booking clerk has charged Rs 6160 and 6180 rupees. It seems he has charged less amount as on internet Rs 2750/ for one way for one person are given. Please clear my doubts

i appreciate ur interest in saving precious water, and shraing your ideas.
first of all, water to be filled simultaneously to all bogies,
* flexible pipes should be connected bottom to bottom of the tank.
if done so, a leak anywhere in the line can empty the whole train.
it will take huge amount of time to fill the train due to series connection.
disengagement of bogies will become difficult.
I'm not trying to find out faults, but these points may be helpful even if such design has to be adopted in practice.
